Even though you may feel some sluggish performance of your PC, maybe, due to fewer RAM configs, some settings, running of heavy Softwares in our Machine. reasons may be anything but we hate the lagging of our system. Right?

Take your few minutes to try these tips to boost your PC 10 times faster than ever before. Some of these tasks can be performed by the system settings while some can be done by third-party Softwares. So move forward and start boosting your Machine.

1. Keeping your windows Updated is a better choice.

This is the first and most easiest way you can try to keep your system faster. Basically Windows brings updated version to improve the system performance. So surely it will help you to make your PC faster.

Have you ever feel more lags before Windows update? definitely, you had. so update your Machine Regularly.

Steps to Update Windows 10

Update Your PC with the latest Version available

  1. Click on the Windows icon in the bottom Left of your Screen.
  2. Click on the settings icon or search for settings.
  3. Click on the Update and Security settings option.
  4. Now Click on Check for Update.

Install the Latest Update Available for your machine.

2. Configure Power Options for best performance.

Power option is the collection of hardware and system settings which manage how your computer uses power. You can optimize it for the best performance according to your need.

Change Power Option to High Performance

Steps to Configure Power Options.

  1. Click on the Search box in the taskbar and Search for Control Panel.
  2. Click on Control Panel.
  3. Look for Power Option. and click on it.
  4. Change it from Balanced (recommended) to High Performance.
  5. Now its already done its half way.
  6. If you want to config more you can proceed with step 7.
  7. After selecting High-performance click on Change Plan Settings.
  8. You can now set the time for you Screen to sleep during Battery Power or for Plugged in.
  9. You can Change more settings by clicking Change Advanced Power settings option.
  10. You are done now.

3. Keep Your Boot time Lower.

Are waiting for you PC to boot for a minutes or more. By following these steps you can boot your PC in just 3 seconds.

Set Boot time to 3 Sec

Steps to low the boot time.

  1. Press the Windows logo key + R to open the run window.
  2. Write “msconfig” in the Run Dialogue box and hit Enter.
  3. New Dialogue box will appear on the screen. Select the Boot tab in this window.
  4. Now you will see the Timeout Option in the Right Bottom of the window.
  5. Change it to 3 sec.
  6. Now you are all set. Click on Apply Button and then OK.

4. Delete the Temporary or Foo Files.

Temporary files, or foo files, are files created to temporarily contain information while a new file is being made and it may consume much more memory of your system and leads to the slower performance of your PC. So it is recommended to delete all the temp files of your system because you don’t need these files anymore.

There are Two types of Temporary files i.e. %temp% and temp. we will delete from both the places. Let’s see step by step.

Delete Temporary Files of your System

Steps to Delete %temp% files.

  1. Press the Windows logo key + R to open the Run window.
  2. Now type “%temp%” as it is in the search box. Hit Enter.
  3. Press Ctrl+A to select all files.
  4. Press Shift+Delete key to delete all selected files permanently.
  5. Click YES.

Directory of %temp% is: C:\Users\SIDDHA~1\AppData\Local\Temp

Open this file location to access %Temp%

If You have done above Steps, then you should do the next process to clear all the temp files that wasn’t there.

Note:- Just follow all the above steps similarly but you have to replace %temp% with simply temp.

Steps to delete temp files.

  1. Press the Windows logo key + R to open the Run window.
  2. Now type “temp” as it is in the search box. Hit Enter.(This may ask you administrator permission Hit Yes.)
  3. Press Ctrl+A to select all files.
  4. Press Shift+Delete key to delete all selected files permanently.
  5. Click YES (Some of these files may not be deleted Simply skip those which is not deleted).

Directory of temp is: C:\Windows\Temp

Open this file location to access Temp

You are done both the Procedure Now lets move Forward.

5. Clearing Prefetch of your files to clean the Garbage.

Each time you turn on your computer, Windows keeps track of the way your computer starts and which programs you commonly open. … The prefetch folder is a subfolder of the Windows system folder. So you don’t need these files at all. then why to keep this just delete it to keep your space free.

Delete all the Prefetch files in your system.

Steps to delete the Prefetch files.

  1. Press the Windows key + R. to open the Run dialogue window.
  2. Type “Prefetch” in the Search box and hit Enter.
  3. Now this will ask you for the Administrative Permission.
  4. Click on Continue. And then YES.
  5. Now press CTRL+A to select all the files there.
  6. Press SHIFT+DELETE to delete all the selected files permanently.
  7. Click YES.
  8. If some of them will not be deleted, Just skip that file and exit The window.

You are all done. Lets perform next Step.

6. Stop unwanted startup programmes.

Some programmes are set to be autostarted during the system Boot up by Windows. But some of them may useless for you to start during boot. That means you should check all the Startup programmes and Disable the useless Programme for you.

Disable the Start up Programmes you don’t need

Steps to Disable the Programmes to start during Boot.

  1. Right click on the Taskbar (anywhere).
  2. Click on Task manager.
  3. Goto the Startup Tab to see the list of Programmes.
  4. Select the Programme you wish to disable.
  5. Click on the DISABLE button on the right bottom of the window.

Now these programme will not start without your concern any more.

7. Close the Background Process of Software that you are not Using regularly.

Background Process uses your Processor Power without letting you Know. You are not gonna to know whats going on in the Background Process but it will degrade your Processor Performance. So its ideal decision to Kill the Background Processes.

Steps to Kill the Background Processes that isn’t in use.

  1. Right Click on TASKBAR.
  2. Click on the TASK MANAGER.
  3. Select the process you want to kill.
  4. Click on END TASK on the right bottom of the window.

8. Disable Visual Effects.

Visual Effect is transitions and animation shown by windows to look better and nothing else. At the same time we don’t need it basically and also this uses our Process and may lead some lags. We are looking for best Performance not the Great look. Right? So we will disable these Effects to use the process in another way. Lets do that.

1. Select Large icons in the View Section.
2. Click on System.
3. Select Advanced System Settings from left top of the window.

4. Now goto the Advance Tab and click on settings.

Now select the third option ADJUST FOR BEST PERFORMANCE and click on OK.

Its all Done! After Performing all the Process Restart or Reboot you PC and see the Difference.
